They say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but with BERDE, you can certainly judge a building by its rating! This guide will walk you through the essentials of getting a BERDE accreditation.
The BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) Green Building Rating System is a way to check, gauge, track, and confirm how well green building projects are doing.
The Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) created BERDE with help in development and promotion from the Department of Energy (DOE).
BERDE Certification is the official way to check, grade, and approve projects in the BERDE Program.
It can serve as a guidance tool, a credible marketing strategy, a transparency tool, and a compliance and policy support tool.
Projects must complete all three stages to receive a complete BERDE Certification. The process includes the registration stage, stage 1, and stage 2.
BERDE ratings range from one to five stars, with scores ranging from 51 and above.
Projects that are applying for BERDE Certification must comply with some minimum requirements to follow and a couple of documents to submit.
