Mental health in the workplace is an important issue that should not be neglected. A positive and supportive workplace environment can have a significant impact on employees' mental health and overall well-being.

Taking Care of Our Mental Health by Ms. Techie Dy

Ms. Techie Dy recently held a mental health talk entitled "Taking Care of Our Mental Health" that was both eye-opening and educational. She stressed the importance of mental health and how it plays a significant role in our overall well-being.

Ms. Dy highlighted that mental health is not just the absence of mental illness but rather a state of wellbeing where one is able to cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively, and contribute to their community. She emphasized that mental health is just as important as physical health and that there is no health without mental health.

She also talked about how mental health problems can affect anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. Ms. Dy pointed out that mental health is a continuum and that everyone has the potential to develop mental health problems, but with the right support, everyone has the potential to recover.

The connection between the mind and the body was another topic that Ms. Dy discussed. She explained how our thoughts, emotions, and behavior can have a significant impact on our physical health and vice versa.

Ms. Dy also shared techniques that can be useful during a state of anxiety such as breathing techniques, mindfulness, media distancing, disengaging with worry, and stress-reducing activities such as exercise and spending time in nature. She encouraged everyone to take care of their mental health and to seek help if they need it.

Holistic Approach to Health by Dr. Eliseo Banaynal

Dr. Eliseo Banaynal also gave a talk entitled "Holistic Approach to Health" where he emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to wellness. The talk covered a range of topics including the core determinants of health and the role of nutrition in maintaining good health.

Dr. Banaynal discussed the various factors that can impact an individual's health, including genetics, lifestyle choices, and the environment. He stressed the importance of taking a holistic approach to health, which looks at the person as a whole and considers all aspects of their life that may impact their wellbeing.

Eating right was another key topic in Dr. Banaynal's talk. He spoke about the importance of nutrition and how what we eat can have a significant impact on our health. He also talked about the different diets for different blood types and referenced the book "Eat Right 4 Your Type."

Dr. Banaynal closed the talk with a famous quote that says, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." He emphasized that good nutrition can be used to prevent and treat various health problems and that food can be a powerful tool in maintaining good health.

Overall, the launch of the JCVA Employee Wellbeing Program was a success with both speakers displaying their expertise within the field of health and nutrition. The whole event was informative and thought-provoking and emphasized the importance of mental health and encouraged everyone to prioritize their wellbeing.
